Wedding planning in Nairobi

My thoughts on the industry in no particular order:

  1. It is an industry that is growing by the day. In my estimation, probably even as little as 10 years ago there were not many people getting their livelihoods solely from the wedding planning industry in Kenya. This has now changed with game changing vendors, exhibitions, dedicated wedding spaces etc
  2. The industry is quite fragmented. I have found it difficult to find inspiration on the web that have detailed information about Nairobi, reviews, ideas all in one. What's on the net is more from US,UK and so on. Perhaps then the need for this blog to try and consolidate all the information.
  3. Sometimes the vendors can be quite cookie cutter. From helping other friends and family plan their weddings, I have learnt that some vendors have copy-paste solutions and your job is to choose the one you like the most. This can work for some couples especially those short of time or an even tighter budget that does not allow for innovation. This then leads to another reason for this blog-to attempt to document real options with real prices with real vendors and see what works or does not.
One final (?) disclaimer for the blog is that it will not try and document the whole landscape. Some services will not even be an option because of price or quality etc. The blog will document the options I have thought through, surfed around, talked to others about.

Ok, let's go!
